The skill compendium consists of four categories. Three of these categories show the progress of your skills and unlock specific locations & NPC vendors. The fourth category shows how many blueprints you have studied and unlocks different crafting & cooking recipes.

The “Fish” compendium shows which fish you have already caught once.
50% completion: Access to gated area on Koilot island
100% completion: Ability to trade with Sgt. Lake (NPC Vendor)
The “Feathers & Trophies” compendium shows which feathers and/or trophies you have obtained from hunting.
50% completion: Access to gated area on Padva island
100% completion: Ability to trade with Filemon (NPC Vendor)
The “Plants” compendium shows which plants you have collected.
50% completion: Access to gated area on Padva island
100% completion: Ability to trade with Filemon (NPC Vendor)
The “Blueprints” compendium shows which blueprints you have already studied. Each studied blueprint unlocks a new crafting or cooking recipe. Currently, filling the Blueprints compendium to 50% or 100% does not unlock anything additional.
The “Cooking” compendium shows which fooods you have already obtained.
